Franziska Gottwald

Franziska Gottwald studied at the Freie Universität in Berlin, where she completed a dissertation (2008, published 2011) on the development of the pictorial category of the tronie by Jan Lievens and Rembrandt. She then embarked on a study of the passions in the art of Rembrandt, published in an article in the Nederlands Kunsthistorisch Jaarboek. She presently works as a freelance art historian in Amsterdam.
