Junko Aono

Dr. Junko Aono is Professor of Art History at Meiji Gakuin University in Tokyo. Previously, she taught as associate professor at Kyushu University in Fukuoka. Dr. Aono’s book, Confronting the Golden Age: Imitation and Innovation in Dutch Genre Painting 1680-1750, developed from her PhD dissertation at the University of Amsterdam, was published in 2015. She is also the author of articles on Dutch painters of the later Golden Age, such as Willem van Mieris and Nicolaas Verkolje.
