Dominique Surh
Dominique N. Surh was Curator of The Leiden Collection from 2004 to 2017. She was appointed Director of Research in 2009. She earned her PhD in 2000 from the University of Virginia, specializing in Italian Renaissance Art with a dissertation on a late medieval topic, “Corpus Christi and the Cappella del Corporale at Orvieto.” Recently, Dr. Surh led a technical study based on the paintings by Gerrit Dou in The Leiden Collection that examines the artist’s painting materials and working technique and was published in 2014 in the Journal of Historians of Netherlandish Art (www.jhna.org).
