Marlise Rijks is assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB) and postdoctoral researcher at Ghent University, working on art, science, and technology in the early modern period. Research topics include the history of collecting, printmaking, natural history, artistic and artisanal practices, and art theory. Among her recent publications is the monograph Artists’ and Artisans’ Collections in Early Modern Antwerp. Catalysts of Innovation (2022).
