Wouter Kloek

Wouter Kloek (b. 1945) has been a curator at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam from 1973–2010, of which a number of years as head of the Department of Paintings. During his later years, he played an important role in creating the plans for the reinstallation of the Rijksmuseum collections, resulting in the grand opening of the building in 2013. From 2010–2016 he presided the board of editors of the periodicals of Amstelodamum. He is known as an expert for the work of Pieter Aertsen and Jan Steen.
