Louvre Abu Dhabi Exhibits Masterpieces of Dutch Art
The exhibition opens tomorrow and coincides with the 350th anniversary of Rembrandt’s death.
As of tomorrow art lovers will be able to see an exhibition at Louvre Abu Dhabi featuring some of the most beautiful paintings from the Dutch Golden Age – including Vermeer’s The Lacemaker (property of the Louvre) and Young Woman Seated at a Virginal (property of The Leiden Collection), which were painted on pieces of canvas cut from the same bolt. These two works will be shown side by side for the first time in 300 years at the exhibition “Rembrandt, Vermeer and the Dutch Golden Age. Masterpieces from The Leiden Collection and the Musée du Louvre.” The show is organized by Louvre Abu Dhabi,The Leiden Collection, the Louvre, and Agence France Muséums – until May 18th.
